Hi all. I'm sorry it has been so long since my last post. As usual, we've had a lot of ups and downs. Starting with the ups. We are really fortunate to have been able to visit with Ravi, Jen and their daughter Naya last weekend. Naya is a sweetheart and Bryce and her played really well together. Bryce had been sick, so no repeat of the make-out session from their previous meeting, but a friendship is blossoming. While they were over, we played in the back yard and got to meet our next door neighbor, Boris. I love Boris. He is an older Russian gentleman who's hobby is to raise pigeons and chickens! Bryce thinks we live next to zoo and often wants to go see the birds. Boris was nice enough to let him pet one of the pigeons and even gave us fresh eggs! I've always wanted a next door neighbor relationship like my parents have with their neighbors. I loved going over to visit with Pat and ask her all about her extensive garden. I hope Bryce will enjoy discovering the world of birds with Boris and be as inquisitive as I was.
Now for a downer...Shaun spent a few days in the hospital for another bowel obstruction. We know he has two areas constricted by tumor growth but were hopeful that they would behave and let him eat normally for a little while. He was doing GREAT for a week or two but then the family came down with a stomach virus, Shaun included. So with the fever and complicating bowel factors, things stopped working properly. Some ill advice by me also probably added to the problem (don't give imodium to someone who fights constipation). Anyways, Shaun is back on IV nutrition but not supposed to eat until things clear up. We know it takes several days and can be extremely uncomfortable, so patience and strength are really necessary for Shaun to get through this. Luckily, he is the biggest fighter I know and can will himself to achieve anything. And for everyone who was expecting pictures of the family in Florida, they will have to wait. Our trip to Disney World has been postponed until May and hopefully Shaun will be strong and healthy enough to enjoy it!
Another up lifting note, we are going to DISNEY! Our trip is really something we have been looking forward to and although it has been delayed, we are still super excited. I love the magic of Disney and want to share it with Bryce. A big thanks to Brian and Caryn and Scott Larimore for their help in making arrangements for the trip. Without your help 1.) we wouldn't be able to go at all and 2.) postponing the trip would have cost us a fortune.
